Mikes Memoir #3

If you thought yesterday was a day to remember, forget about it. Today Mike VanGalio experienced something that he’ll never forget.

While Mike was at the beach today, where he was getting nicely bronzed, he witnessed something that people would only believe if they saw a picture of it. Even though Mike had not had any alcoholic beverages in him, he couldn’t believe what he saw; a goat walking on the beach. Very far from the closest farm, Mike thought that the owner had abandoned his goat, but just at that very moment a scraggly looking man appeared from the ocean, calling for his goat. At this time Mike was shocked that a man let his goat roam free along the beach, but Mike had no idea what was going to happen minutes later. Just like any domesticated dog, the goat followed his owner down to the shore and began frolicking in the small waves. Very entertained, Mike went to take a closer look. At this time the owner called his goat out into the ocean and put him on his surf board. Mike said, “no way is that goat going to sur…” and before Mike could finish “surf” the goat was being pushed into a wave for it to surf on its own. As a surf enthusiast, Mike was stunned, excited, and honored to see a goat ride a surf board. Knowing that many people will never see that in their lifetime, Mike felt lucky that he snapped a picture so that he could tell that story for the rest of his life.
